What is a friend?
I think everyone's first thought is, well thats obvious!
But I think it's exactly the right question to ask. Everyone has their own interpretation of what a friend is and who is their friend. And there are so many different kinds of friends. There are just friends, school friends, best friends, guy friends, girl friends, even friends with benefits. When do you know you are one of those?
I think, and in most cases with my friendships, we become friends when one of the 2 people say it outloud. But who dictates when it's time to move from being aqaintances to friends? I know that it's defenately not a thing you talk about as it's own subject. You don't ask the person if they want to be your friend. So how do you become a friend?
And what are the duties of friends? I know from experience that some of the requirements are to be honest, respectable, trustworthy, etc.. And I know I expect that from my friends. But what is the difference between a friend and a best friend? Is it required to know the person better than yourself? Do you need to finnish each others sentences? Has our idea of a friend come from the media? If it is, its extremely disturbing! When stuff like fashion and eating disorders come from the media, somthing so pure as friendship being inflicted makes it that much more unreal.
One more question people,
What is this world coming to???
Lazy
Obese
Sad
Efficiently boring
Really uncool
And Im sad to say that at this current state of life I am in.. I am ALL of those!
It's really just sad! (look row 3) And the sadest part is that I have everything to be happy about!
reason 1. I am getting a dog in 2 weeks and I have been waiting for this all my life really! And I get to wakeup early in the summer to take her out in the pouring rain! YEAY!
reason 2. I am single! I can look at anyone, I can like anyone, and I don't have any obligations to being a nice person. Or look nice if I don't want to.
reason 3. Moms never home so I don't haveto listen to her nagging about anything and I can watch the big tv in the living room without asking anyone what they want to watch.
ok... who am I kiddin?
